Vacancy for an Administrator /Parish clerk / Responsible finance officer
The council are looking for someone with a strong administrative
capability to take on the role and responsibilities of Parish clerk and
Responsible Finance Officer from the current parish clerk in the New Year.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate good
communication skills and a disciplined approach to managing the parish
council’s business including Council minutes, correspondence and financial
records. Computer literacy is essential with previous experience of
committee work being an advantage.
The person appointed will be required to work from their
own home, arrange and attend council
meetings held once a month on a Monday evening. It will be essential to
be able to liaise with and advise the chairman, councillors and the public; work
with local council officials; complete meeting actions; and keep the Council’s financial
accounts, including making the annual return on behalf of the council.
Hours are flexible and
require an average of 9 hours per week. The
salary will be £4,913 based on local authority pay scale SPC23. Provision for a Pension will also be made. A
contribution will be made towards personal facilities and equipment used for
parish purposes such as telephone and car. Direct
expenses will be paid in full.
The council intends to seek Quality Parish Status and
will require the successful candidate to undertake supported training to obtain
a Certificate of Local Council Administration (CiLCA).
