Give by St John Ambulance Service at Beech Village Hall on Saturday 15th June 2019, 10am to 12 noon
Many of you will have noticed the yellow and green cabinet on the outside wall of the Village Hall, to the right of the main entrance.
This cabinet houses an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), owned by the Parish Council. Anyone can take the AED from the cabinet (having first rung 999) and use it to help treat a person who has suffered a heart attack, wherever they are in the village.
The AED diagnoses the cardiac problem and, if necessary, applies an electric shock to restart the heart into its regular rhythm.
When switched on, the AED “talks” the user through the steps to take. But why not get proper instruction from the professionals? Better than panicking during an incident!
